How to get help

Email hello@overhead.app. That's the support channel for the Overhead app and this website. We usually reply within a few business days. There's no chatbot, no ticketing system, no phone tree — it's a real person, who actually lives under the same flight path.

What to include in your email

• A short description of what's happening or what you're trying to do.
• Your phone model and OS version (e.g., "iPhone 15 Pro on iOS 18.4").
• The version of the Overhead app, shown at the bottom of the About tab.
• A screenshot if anything looks broken on screen.

Common questions

My report didn't get sent

Overhead opens your phone's Mail app to send the report — it doesn't deliver mail itself. If nothing happens when you tap "Send to council," check that:

• Your iPhone has at least one mail account set up in Settings → Mail → Accounts. (Brand-new iPhones often don't, and the system Mail app is hidden.)
• On Android, that you have a default email app set (Gmail counts).
• That you actually tapped Send inside the mail draft after Overhead opened it.

If your phone doesn't have a mail account at all, the app will tell you and offer alternatives (the LGB Noise hotline and the WebTrak web form).

Coordinates are wrong on the simulator

Expected — iOS Simulator reports a stub Apple-HQ location unless you manually set one in Features → Location. On a real device the location is accurate to whatever your GPS can resolve in your backyard.

My monthly PDF packet won't generate

Make sure you've actually sent at least one report in the month being compiled (the packet only includes reports that left your phone — drafts and unsent captures aren't counted). If the share sheet doesn't appear, restart the app and try again.

How do I delete all my data?

Uninstall the app. All reports, photos, videos, and your local profile are stored in the app's sandbox and are removed by iOS or Android when the app is uninstalled. If you also signed up for the email list on this website, email privacy@overhead.app and we'll remove your address.

Feature requests and bug reports

Same address — hello@overhead.app. We especially want to hear from residents in California Heights, Bixby Knolls, and Los Cerritos about specific pain points, but we read everything that comes in from anywhere along the flight path.
